Boys Varsity Swimming, Girls Varsity Swimming · UCHS Swimmers Make Splash at Catawba County Championships

The University Christian High School swimmers fared very well in the annual Catawba County Swim Championships held at Lenoir-Rhyne University on Friday, January 4.  The girls finished third and the boys 4th in the seven team field that included public and private schools from Catawba County.

The boys team had the only individual champion for UCHS as Tommy Little captured gold in the 200 freestyle to go along with a silver medal in the 100 backstroke.  Little also teamed with David Cabral, Zack Johnson and Henry Winfield to claim  bronze in the 200 medley relay.

The girls were led by Emma Edwards and Rachel Little who both garnered individual as well as relay medals.  Edwards took silver in the 100 butterfly and bronze in the 200 individual medley.  Little claimed an individual bronze in the 200 freestyle and joined Edwards, Kennedy Behmer and Sam Swisher to take silver in the 200 medley relay.  Little, Edwards and Swisher also joined Sarah Kelty to grab the silver medal in the 400 freestyle relay.

Congratulations to coach Meaghan Texer and all the UCHS swimmers!
