Boys Varsity Soccer · Boys Soccer Loses in Quarterfinals at #1 Westchester Country Day

University Christian’s boys soccer season came to an end at #1 seed Westchester Country Day School in High Point on Saturday, October 19 by a final score of 5-3.  Early on the match was even with WCCDS scoring five minutes into the contest and UCHS answering three minutes later on a deflected goal by Andrew Poe.  The score remained 1-1 until the final five minutes of the half when Westchester scored two times, the final goal coming seconds before time expired, for a 3-1 lead.

In the second half Westchester extended the lead to 4-1 only to see Hayden Patel score unassisted to cut the margin to 2 goals.  After a final goal by the Wildcats UCHS’ Eli Goebelbecker scored from outside the box for the final tally of 5-3.  UCHS was thwarted twice on penalty kicks by the WCCDS goalie.

The loss brings an historic season for the Barracudas to an end.  Among their accomplishments are:

Best record in program history, 12-6

First ever wins in NCISAA playoffs (rounds 1 and 2)
